Chattanooga Celebrates Opening of BlueCross Healthy Place at Highland Park
Take a look inside the grand opening of the brand-new $5 million space in Chattanooga.
Activities for All Ages
The BlueCross Healthy Place at Highland Park is a partnership between the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Foundation and three local charter schools: Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy, Chattanooga Preparatory School and the Montessori School at Highland Park.
It is the first BlueCross Healthy Place to be completed on privately owned land and is shared by the schools and Highland Park community members.
The space includes a sports field with bleachers, a challenge course, basketball and tennis courts, and accessible play areas.

Challenge course
The challenge course features a variety of obstacles and a precision timing system.
Sports field
The sports field has amphitheater seating and a concessions area for school and community games.
Basketball and tennis courts
The BlueCross Healthy Place has full-size basketball and tennis courts.
Fitness station
The fitness station includes equipment for aerobic fitness, core fitness and balance.
Playground
The accessible playground features areas for ages 2-5 and 5-12 with a rubber safety surface and ramp access.
